NONPROFIT SOARING EAGLES HOSTS THIRD HUMAN TRAFFICKING AWARENESS SUMMIT

TULSA, Okla. — The nonprofit organization Soaring Eagles Youth and Family Services hosted their third annual Human Trafficking Awareness Summit on Saturday.

The event was put on in part by executive director of Soaring Eagles Premadonna Braddick and brought together experts and survivors to provide critical education about modern human trafficking to the public, helping to build a united front against trafficking.

"I think the community outreach [Premadonna] does is very, very valuable," shared Cindy Driver, a retired Tulsa Public Schools educator and district administrator as well as a volunteer with Tulsa S.T.E.P.S. "Like the program today, an awareness of human trafficking it is so, so important. I learned a lot myself just coming to her presentations last year and the year before, so it's a very valuable service that she provides to the public and I'm hoping that her attendance continues on and on and on."

Keynote speakers included Emmy-featured activist Dr. Nissi Hamilton and Chairman of the Steering Committee United Against Human Trafficking Dr. Gregory Williams, who are both survivors of human trafficking.

"I'm just attending for fun and to listen to what others have to say," said Dr. Kathy Hoppe, an associate professor of psychology at Oral Roberts University and one of Premodonna Braddick's former professors. "I'm looking forward to the challenges that they are going to present to us...This is my first time here to see all of these wonderful organizations come together, so it's a thrill."
